Born in Bushey, Hertfordshire, but of Welsh descent, Johnny Gates aged 46, developed his passion for photography from the tender age of 9 when he found his first camera in the bottom of a skip. It is therefore not surprising that Johnny Gates photography is now recognised worldwide.

Johnny Gates has been living in Marbella for the past 22 years. He subsequently travels extensively to meet the great demand for his photography.

Since that time, Johnny has specialised in photographing thousands of celebrities worldwide. From Elton John and Robert de Niro to Rik Mayall, Cilla Black, David Beckham and Renaldo - the list is endless. Johnny now photographs for not only all the local magazines, but also all the British press. He works closely with Max Clifford and many of the charities in Marbella such as The Variety Club of Great Britain, The Rees Daniels Trust and the local charity Cudeca. His work has appeared in such publications as Vogue, OK! Magazine, Country Life as well as all the British broadsheets and tabloids.
